OMG I have a page rank! WOO HOO!

Reactions:
0 comments Links to this post
I know it sounds a bit rediculous to be so excited to have a page ranking, but you see, I haven't had my domain name that long. I have only had it for I think 3 months now and it is very hard to get page rankings.

I rank 1/10 I am at the bottom of the totum poll sort of speak, lol but that's ok at least I have a rank now. lol

I am so happy about this and now I can go to sleep very happy with my accomplishment on page ranking.

I will put the button on my blog tomorrow as I finish updating the look of my blog. lol

I think I pulled a muscle yesterday when I organized the second room. See we are using the second room as a storage room for now until all of it is unpacked, and since there is so much, I had to organize it. My daughter's stuff is not to be touched, so I had to find it all and get it in one corner of the room (corner was a whole wall! lol). Now I can take my time in opening boxes and all the eBay stuff is together, so I can start listing everything! :)

Good Night

Do you like my new look?

Reactions:

I was looking for a new blog template, and well, I couldn't find one I liked. So I decided to just update this one with a new look. lol

I want to add to the bottom of my blog a link that will lead readers to my older posts. I see this link on several blogs. It is included in the templates, but I am unsure of how to get mine to do that. lol

If anyone knows how, please contact me and explain what I need to do to get this. I would appreciate it so much. I know absolutely nothing about xhml, I do know html a little though.

Anyway, if you like my new look and want to leave a comment, just click on the article and it will open a page for you to leave the comment.

Thanks and Have a great evening!

Patrick Swayze calls condition a 'miracle'

Reactions:
0 comments Links to this post

We all know the well known actor was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer back in March of this year. The report I read said the doctor's found it early and he should do well.

Well, on July 22, Just months after the actor was rumored to be dying from pancreatic cancer, the 55-year-old appeared tanned and healthy as he walked through a Los Angeles airport at the weekend.

The smiling star said: "I'm cooking. I'm a miracle dude. I don't know why."
he is reported to have told his fans "I'm doing really well. I feel really good. I've put on 20 pounds. I should be dead right now. Look at me - I'm a miracle."

From the article I read:
Experts claim that Patrick's dance background will be helping him fight the disease, which has just a five per cent survival rate.

Pancreatic cancer specialist Professor John Neoptolemos said: "Patrick has a background in dancing and so has been a very fit man for much of his life. This will have given him a strong position to start from to fight cancer."

Patrick - who was diagnosed with the illness in January - has recently been told by doctors that he is well enough to begin filming new TV show 'The Beast'.

He is reportedly going to great lengths to ensure he stays healthy during filming, having employed a security team and requested all his food be specially delivered from an organic food store.

Photo is from 2007.

My Aunt was diagnosed with this same cancer in 2005 (April, 1) she passed away on May 6,2005. She only lived a month after being diagnosed. She showed NO signs! The only reason they ran the test on her was because she went to the dr. to find out why she was YELLOW! She felt naucious a lot, but had NO pain.

I miss my Aunt every single day! We weren't close when I was a child, we were just starting to get closer when all this happened. I feel cheated out of a wonderful relationship we started to have.

I am happy Patrick is doing well and is able to spend more time with his family.

What's Up With All The Weird Names For Children?

Reactions:
0 comments Links to this post
I was just getting on the internet today and on yahoo there is the headline "Enough with unusual names" so I clicked on the article to see what celebrity had their kid and what was the name. lol Lets face it Knox Leon and Sunday Rose are the two newest and I just hope when those kids are growing up, they are not teased by the other kids. We all know how cruel kids can be especially about names.

Anyway, here's some of the article:
A family court judge in New Zealand has had enough with parents giving their children bizarre names here, and did something about it.

Just ask "Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii". He had her renamed.
That is the childs name! OMG what the heck were those parents thinking?
This name makes the celebrity's crazy names seem normal! lol

The new name was not made public to protect the girl's privacy.

"The court is profoundly concerned about the very poor judgment which this child's parents have shown in choosing this name," he wrote. "It makes a fool of the child and sets her up with a social disability and handicap, unnecessarily."

The girl had been so embarrassed at the name that she had never told her closest friends what it was. She told people to call her "K" instead, the girl's lawyer, Colleen MacLeod, told the court.

The girl was involved in a custody battle.

I only took excerpts from the article, but I have provided the link for those who would like to read the whole story.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080724/ap_on_re_au_an/new_zealand_bizarre_names

Does anyone have an opinion on all the crazy names that are coming about now? Celebraties want to be different, and I totally understand that, but some of the names are OUTRAGOUS in my opinion. This one certainly is.

What does the phrase out going mail mean?

Reactions:
0 comments Links to this post
Well, according to answers.com the definition of outgoing is an adjective and it means:

1. Going out or away; departing: an outgoing passenger train.
a. Retiring from or relinquishing a place, position, or office: the outgoing chairperson.
b. Addressed for sending: outgoing mail.
c. Sociable and responsive to others; friendly: a warm, outgoing personality.
2. Intended to be taken out, as from a restaurant: outgoing orders of Chinese food.

So from those terms, we can determine that outgoing mail means: Addressed for sending.

This means that if you put something in the mail box addressed to send out, you would expect that the mail person would take it and put it in his truck to bring to the PO for you right? NO not mine!

My Story:
I have a mail box that does not have the flag to lift for outgoing mail on it. It actually broke off before we moved in this house. I put outgoing mail in the mail box and put a NOTE on the front of the mail box and it read "outgoing mail inside thanks". Now a normal person would read that and think to remove the outgoing mail right?!

I just went outside to get the mail and what is STILL inside my mail box? MY OUT GOING MAIL!!!

I just don't get it! I am so upset with the mail man right now. I think it was our regular mail man too, and he has been bringing us our mail from the old address, but that is unexceptable!

I had 1 package and 1 envelope and the mail man didn't pay them any attention all he did was put the 1 piece of mail I had in the mail box and left!

If you have any comments on this, I'd love to read them.

What do you think of the USPS?

Actress Estelle Getty has died at the age of 84.

Reactions:
1 comments Links to this post
Estelle Getty, the diminutive actress who spent 40 years struggling for success before landing a role of a lifetime in 1985 as the sarcastic octogenarian Sophia on TV's "The Golden Girls," has died. She was 84.

Getty, who suffered from advanced dementia, died at about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday at her Hollywood Boulevard home, said her son, Carl Gettleman of Santa Monica.

"She was loved throughout the world in six continents, and if they loved sitcoms in Antarctica she would have been loved on seven continents," her son said. "She was one of the most talented comedic actresses who ever lived."

"The Golden Girls," featuring four female retirees sharing a house in Miami, grew out of NBC programming chief Brandon Tartikoff's belief that television was ignoring its older viewers.

Three of its stars had already appeared in previous series: Bea Arthur in "Maude," Betty White in "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and Rue McClanahan in "Mama's Family." The last character to be cast was Sophia Petrillo, the feisty 80-something mother of Arthur's character.

"Our mother-daughter relationship was one of the greatest comic duos ever, and I will miss her," Arthur said in a statement.

In addition to her son Carl, Getty is survived by son Barry Gettleman, of Miami; a brother, David Scher of London; and a sister, Rosilyn Howard of Las Vegas.

How many of you watched The Golden Girls? I loved that show! Sophia was such a character! lol I would almost wish my mom was as funny as she was, but then again, I think several of us who loved Sophia felt the same way.

Loving and funny was how she protrayed her character and that's how she should be remembered.

Other Legitamite Ways I Make Money On The Internet Besides eBay Sales.

Reactions:
0 comments Links to this post
eBay doesn't have to be the only way of making money online. Having multiple streams of income is what will get you through the slow times. You can always put eBay on the back burner during the summer months until fall - when eBay buying activity generally picks up again. Here are some ways that I use the internet to make extra money. It takes time to build these up, and they won't make you a rich, but I do make money from them.

Save while you shop!
Big Crumbs is one of the very few sites to give you CASH back on all of your online shopping! They give you a profile page similar to face book and if you sell on eBay - you can promote your eBay sales through your Big Crumbs profile, too!!
http://www.bigcrumbs.com/crumbs/landing.do?r=icyorchid&s=20161

Auctioniva
Earn money for promoting your eBay items!
http://www.auctioniva.com/1000011045

Write How-To articles for eHow.
You get paid by the number of times your article is read. Everybody knows how to do something - bake a special cake, entertain a 2 year old, mystery shop, clean a bathtub, plant a garden, etc. Here are my articles on eHow.
You won't make much the first few months and it might take you 2 months to reach payout, but as time goes by and your articles accumulate, you will start making more money.
http://www.ehow.com/make-money-online.aspx?tcid=jun08_ref573

Here is my June payment from eHow (click the image to see it close up):

Gather
Gather is a place to connect with people who share your passions. Let your unique voice shine through the articles, images, reviews, or audio you publish. We'll even compensate you with Gather Points™. Being rewarded for something you'd do for free? Now that's a pretty good deal.
http://icyorchid.gather.com/Invite.action

Mylot
At myLot you are paid for participating in discussions. It is completely free to join and there are thousands of topics to talk about. If you don’t find a handful of discussions about your interests, you can always create new discussions that interest you. You are paid for all your activity on the site and for your referrals’ activity as well. I have made $27 on mylot. I could have made more, but I have not been as active in May and June.
http://www.mylot.com/icyorchid

Boomertowne
I love this site. You earn points for reading the news, playing games, meeting new friends, etc. If you click to the max points a day (1,500) in 17 days you can earn a Visa GC for $50. Or if you do 1,000 points you can get the card in 25 days.

You can earn points just for signing up, and they’ll even give you extra points if you enter the referral code below. You can earn even more points for doing things like posting messages on the Discussion Boards, creating a Profile, signing up for and reading the newsletter, adding your city to MyTowne, playing the trivia contest, and more. You have a chance to win $1,000 by playing the scavenger hunt!

Come join me and don't forget to enter the Referral Code: 739452249

Wellness360
is the only free corporate health and wellness program that rewards participants for doing sensible healthy things and compensates employers for their employees' participation.

services:
* Online wellness portal: featuring sensible fitness and nutrition with easy-to-use interactive exercise tracking, menu planning, and overall progress monitoring.
* Dynamic health management tool: maintain online personal records 24/7, give access to doctors, and ensure readiness for personal and family emergencies.
* Comprehensive health risk assessment: analyzing actual risks for certain diseases for individuals and your organization.

No cost to you, employees, and family. Participants literally make money using wellness360 services. The more they do, the greater the share of revenues.

A few things are:
- Diet and fitness tracking,
- Personal health record,
- Emergency medical record,
- Medical and wellness library
- Free Genetic Testing

You also earn 25% of what your referrals make 3 levels deep and can cashout once you hit $25. I cashed out for $61. WOW!

I think it's a pretty cool site. You pretty much get paid to do things on the site such as take health exams and enter what you ate for the day or the exercise you did...

If you would like to join here is my link:
https://www.mywellness360.com/enrollWB.aspx?&source=ahm&broker=811168 My referral code is 811168

One more good one is Google Adsense. If you have a blog or website, and don't have Google Adsense, you are missing out. This is a pay-per-click program. One you get it going on autopilot, you can make some good money. There are people who make hundreds or thousands a month, but since I am doing multiple things, I don't make that much. I haven't made that much to reach payout, but when I do reach payout, it will be like money in the bank! lol

These are just a few things I do. I will admit, whenever I see "make money on the internet ads," I am skeptical and think "SCAM!" But some are legitimate. Since eBay has restricted the outgoing links on your About Me Page, you may want to consider starting a blog where you can tie all of these things together to work for you each month.

Please feel free to post a comment about your favorite site to make money from.

My Daughter got engaged!

Reactions:
0 comments Links to this post
My daughter and her boyfriend went to Gatlinburg Tennessee to Dollywood with his parents last week. She came back engaged!

They have set the date for July 25, 2009. I hope they can save up enough money for their wedding. There is NO way I will let my daughter plan a $10,000 wedding! There is NO money for that. Maybe $2,000 - $3,000 and that is stretching it, but it is her big day and I want it to be a nice as possible. They are trying to save at least $1,000 and if we can donate $1,000 and his parents can donate that much, then everything should go smoothly. lol Hopefully it will be cheaper, but I doubt it. lol

She is thinking about having a classic wedding I think she said classic. lol
She was thinking of having the matron of honor in a black and white dress.
I DON'T like that idea, so I hope I can change her mind of those colors. lol
I thought she would actually choose pink, and now she is saying black and white. lol I have some time to convience her that those colors are not the right colors for her wedding.

I just hope the groom loosens up a bit. He is still getting to know us and we are still getting to know him, so he isn't too relaxed yet, but I sure hope that happens soon.

So needless to say, I will probably start a blog about everything going on with the wedding. lol

Stay tuned!

Hubby's check up was GREAT! His bp was 139/85 and he doesn't have to go back for 4 months! He really is doing much better.

My update:
The dr told me that they found a fibroid on my uterus, they did not say which side it was on but it is 2cm. There is a cyst in my endometrial stripe region. She said that I would have back pain as well with this too and I told her that is what brought me to her. lol She hadn't looked at my chart she wasn't sure if she was going to charge me or not for the visit. After she opened my chart, she realized I was having pain in back and front. lol

She then gave me a prescription for 800mg of Ibuprofen. I am to start taking it 2 days before my period so I will not have as much pain and it is suppose to ease the flow some (praying on that). She said I am going to be watched for now. I go in 4 months for another pap and if I am bleeding too much or am in TOO much pain, I need to go in and see her and then she will refer me to the GYN.

Keep in mind this is a regular dr, not a GYN so I am getting good care from a straight dr. lol

Just wanted to let you all know what the dr said and what is going on for now. She said she could recommend me birth control pills as that is what they usually do and I said no. I explained why and she understood.

The dr I go to is with Daughter's of Charity, so she could not prescribe any, but she was going to tell me where to go if I wanted to do that. lol

July 4th:
The pain pills WORK! I felt absolutely NO pain yesterday morning. I started to get a little pain, but I think it was because I was doing a lot and we had a small 4th of July party with my daughter and her boyfriend, played WII games, and grilled. lol
