Materials
candy corn
medium clear cellophane bag
8.5 x 11 black linen cardstock – 2 sheets
36” natural twine

Tools
scissors, hole punch
double-sided tape
compact disc, compass
pencil

Please purchase the Cello Bags for this and other projects here
Please put Rep # 1338 in the rep box.

Directions
  • Fill the medium cellophane bag with 1 1/2 cups of candy corn. Tie a 3” piece of natural twine around the neck of the bag to close it.

  • Using your compact disc, trace the outside and inner circle of the cd with your pencil on the black cardstock. Cut out both circles with your scissors.

  • Use a compass to create the top of the witch’s hat. Place the point of the compass at the corner of the black cardstock. Draw a quarter of a circle with a radius of 5 inches. Cut along the line.

  • Twist cardstock into a cone shape. Use double-sided tape to adhere the sides together.

  • Use a hole punch to punch two holes, directly opposite of each other, on each side of the inner circle of the brim. Punch two holes on opposing sides of the bottom of the cone that match up with the brim holes.

  • Starting at the bottom, pull the remaining twine through the holes of the brim. Then pull the twine through the holes in the cone from the inside to the outside. Wrap the twine as many times as you can around the hat and tie a bow to secure the ends.

  • Place the hat on top of the cello bag, making sure the excess cellophane goes through the hole in the brim of the hat.

  • Cut out two black 1/2” squares from your remaining cardstock and adhere with double-sided tape to the “face” of the witch!

We think we know what is the cause of the strange happening in our home

It was storming yesterday. I got hungry and wanted to fix something to eat and found water (yellowish) on my stove again! Now we were home this time and did not hear anything climbing on the counter. lol

I called my hubby and showed him, we still could not find out what was happening. A few hours later I went back to the counter and found more! This time there was more on the counter instead of the stove. It was then that we found that we have a LEAK!

We don't know how, but when it rains, water is getting into one of our cabinets and coming down the light fixture/air duct over our stove.

So we are going to go on top of the roof this weekend to see what needs fixing. LOL
I am just glad we now know what the heck was causing the problem.

    Bill Payment Centers

    Reactions:

Have you ever made a bill payment at a pay center? If so did you think that payment would go directly to your account?

Well, sometimes if the pay center is affiliated with that company, it will post directly to your account. Most of the time, they are not affiliated and it takes a few days for it to post.
    I just found this out.

I made a payment on our water bill and cable bill at the pay center that is 3 blocks away from my home. Not knowing that this place is working for an independant company. The independant company picks up all payments and post them to your account. Talk about a pain in the butt!

I called the water company this morning to make sure they received the payment and told the woman I paid at a pay center and she informed me that they are not affiliated with pay centers, which got me very worried. So I called the pay center and he told me about the independant company contract.

My cable is the same way. I made a payment, I called and I spoke with someone in collections and guess what there was NOTHING she could do for me. All she did was put a notation on my account that I made a payment, when and what time. Hopefully that will keep my service on. She couldn't even give me an extension to give the payment time to get there. :(

So I wonder why they have these companies that do this? Why do they have pay centers if they are not there to help us and post our payments when we make them? I just don't understand this at all........I paid my bills, but they are still unpaid. Sounds so unreal.

So if you pay your bills at the pay center, please do yourself the favor and ask if it posts to your account from them or is it an independant contract? If it's independant, go to the company and pay it....save yourself the aggravation.

These are the Roses my hubby hand picked for me. The pink one is the one he brought home from work on Friday and the red ones are the ones he picked for me yesterday on his way home from paying our cable bill. He isn't picking them from someone's yard, he picks them from his work. :)

He is such a sweetheart! I had another migraine yesterday and he thought roses would cheer me up. They did! :)

I hope everyone's hubby's out there do what mine does. It only takes a second to pick a rose on their way home to say I love you or I was thinking of you today.

    My Daughter's Hurt Foot

    Reactions:

On Wednesday Afternoon I got a phone call from my daughter. I answered the phone and all I heard from the other side was "Mom you're coming with me to the hospital tonight!" I stayed calm and asked "what happened" of course thinking she was making something minor into something major. Sometimes she is more afraid that it is worse and needs medical attention. lol NOT this time!

This is my daughter's foot! She went to the hospital and they told her that she sprained the ligaments in her ankle/foot!

She did this getting out of a Penske truck! They are like UHaul's. Now it wasn't one you use for moving, it was another truck. She was getting out of her friends truck and she missed the step and landed the wrong way on her foot. She couldn't get up to walk. Her friend had to help her up and into her home.

This is the cast my daughter's foot was wrapped in. She had gauze wrapped around her foot and then the cast and then 2 ace bandages wrapped around the cast! She is off of work until Monday!

She was here yesterday, so I could help her and take care of her. She wanted to take it all off, because she wants to get use to not having it all on so she can go back to work. It still hurts a lot though. She is on Vicoden for pain.

While she was here yesterday, we watched Sex In The City The Movie. LOL All I can say is it was well worth the wait to see it!
I will buy the movie someday!

Applying Mineral Makeup and where you can buy it.

The best place online to purchase mineral makeup is
    Beautiful Diva
This company is Owned by Myra Roldan!
Last year Myra was on Oprah as a finalist in the search for the next Big idea!

    How to Apply Mineral Makeup
Many women have discovered the benefits of using mineral make-up as opposed to traditional liquid foundation, or powder. Mineral make-up does not contain chemicals that cause blemishes, and it does not aggravate sensitive skin conditions. There is a trick to applying this type of foundation to make it look natural.

    Things You’ll Need:
    moisterizer
    setting powder
    foundation
    blush
    eyeshadow
    eyeliner
    mascara
    enhancers for dark circles, etc
    kabuki brush
    proper eyeliner brush

    Instructions:
Moisturize your face first. Mineral powder adheres to the natural oil of your skin, so if your face is too dry, the powder may end up looking like just that - powder. Apply lotion and wait 10 minutes, as a face too oily would melt the make-up. Trial and error might be needed to find the perfect balance.

Pour a small amount of foundation into the cap of the jar. This will help avoid using too much, and you can always add a layer if needed. Use maybe a little more than a pinch or so.

Apply eye liner next and use your kabuki brush to dust off any powder droppings from your cheeks.

Dab on any enhancers that you may need to specific areas, such as under the eyes. Press fingertip in foundation for a concentrated amount and dab your blemishes to make them disappear.

Swirl the kabuki brush in the cap, then tap the brush to dust off the extra powder. The brush is most important in covering large areas of your face, and an inferior brush might make the make-up look artificial. You might want to invest in a decent one.

Apply the foundation by rubbing the brush on your skin in a circular motion. This is where you decided how the make-up will look. Its recommended to start lightly on the cheeks and move off to the side of your face. The brush isn't supposed to just dust your skin with powder, its going to BUFF the powder, to help it adhere to the oil in your skin. The more you buff, the heavier the coverage will be. This take practice to find the right technique.

Once you have the look you want with foundation, apply a setting powder. Apply it the same way you would the foundation. Bare Minerals sells a type of setting powder called "Mineral Veil", and a lot of people who have problems with the makeup melting off have them due to the lack of applying the setting powder. Without it, the make-up will eventually look a little tired. With it, the makeup will hold much longer and look less sweaty. You can really tell the difference between using it and skipping it.

    Tips & Warnings
Always use a non-mineral, oil-based moisturizer that will not clog pores. If your moisturizer does not absorb into your skin, neither will your mineral makeup!

Use a setting powder on eyelids to set shadows and avoid creases.

Use a setting powder as a base all over if you have oily skin...it will help absorb the oil naturally.

With the correct brush, eyeliner will glide on with no gaps. Powder tends to sprinkle, so use your kabuki brush to "pick up" the fallen powder.

Always apply eyeliner prior to foundation so you won't leave smudges from sprinkles.

Using special enhancers such as "polished" will refract light and make your dark under-eye circles disappear. Also use in the corner of eyes, mouth, etc. to reduce the appearance of fine lines.

Foundation should be applied in light layers. If you feel you need more coverage, keep applying light layers.

Brush your blush on the same way you would traditional makeup, but be sure to use your kabuki brush to avoid outlines and streaking.

Apply mineral eye shadow as usual..lighter colors under brow line and darker colors on the lid.

Using a good quality mascara with keratin will help strengthen lashes and improve their look even when you're not wearing mascara.

For those with oily skin, finishing with a setting powder will give extra protection and oil absorption and help you obtain a matte finish.

The foundation will look a little powdery when you first apply it. It will settle into your skin and look much more natural in a few minutes.

A kabuki brush is essential to covering your face, but a smaller brush will serve to use the powder as a concealer if you want to use it that way.

This is a great product to use if you have acne, or eczema, or other skin conditions, as it contains less ingredients than traditional make-up. Most mineral make-ups even have soothing properties to heal such conditions.

    Avoid powders that contain talc

Use natural lipsticks that do not contain perfumes and dyes.

Some people do have further allergies to the minerals. Its not common, but if your skin gets itchy, or red, then you might not be able to use this type of foundation.

Though some brands claim to have an SPF factor, you might still want to use a sun screen if you plan to be outside.

It's not recommended to sleep in ANY sort of make-up, so while this might not have the chemicals that can harm your skin, it still covers your skin. Pores open and skin heals when you sleep, so wash your face before bed.

OMG My Digital Cable Is BACK!

The tech they sent this time knew exactly what he was doing!
    YAY!! lol

There was nothing wrong with the signal from the pole. There was nothing wrong with the coaxial cable outside my home or inside. It was the BOX!

I went to the office to swap out my box on the 22nd and they gave me another DEAD BOX!

The tech that came out today, hooked up a new cable from the pole and brought it inside my house and hooked it up to the box and told me it was a dead box! lol He had another box in his truck. Brought it in hooked it up and viola! TV!!

The tech couldn't believe that he was the 4th one and NONE of them would tell me exactly what the heck was wrong just the box and that the boxes weren't working! lol

He said he couldn't leave a client without working services, that's just crazy. lol I agreed.

Now I called cable and got the rest of my credits. YAY!! They credited me $25 on the 19th and today they credited me with $16.32, so that means I have a whole credit of $41.32 which is my internet service payment! LOL

Awwwww I just love getting something for free.......would have loved it even better if it were without all the aggravation.
