Tendonitis In My Shoulder

Well, Hubby and I went to the dr and she ran some test on him, we are waiting on the results and he goes back in 2 weeks.

She examined my shoulder and I have Tendonitis, so I need to change my schedule for posting. She said that sometimes that is the beginning of carpel tunnel. I do have medicine to take for it, so I'm hoping it helps and relieves the pain.

Do Store Employees Actually Know What They Need To Know About Store Policies?

Reactions:

I went to the grocery store 2 weeks ago (7-10-09) I had a $5 off coupon to use and the cashier told me that they didn't accept coupons off the Internet. Now this wasn't just a coupon, it was a coupon from the store rewarding their loyal customers, I got it off the store's site.

I asked to speak with the MGR and the manager would not even take the coupon out of my hand to see that it was in fact a valid coupon. Now I spoke with the District MGR and he apologized and told me I could use the coupon even though it would be expired.

Today I went back to use that coupon. I spoke with the cashier before she rung me up and she got the MGR (a different MGR) and I started to explain to him what happened and that I spoke with the district MGR and he told the cashier to scan the coupon. lol He looked at the coupon and said it was valid.

After that, I went to Wal-Mart to get some things, I presented the cashier my coupons (Internet coupons) and the cashier told me they don't accept paper coupons. LOL Now I asked what did she mean because ALL coupons are paper.

She then said Internet coupons and I pulled out my handy copy of Wal-Marts coupon policy (I HIGHLY recommend you carrying that with you as I needed mine today for the first time EVER). She got the CSM and the CSM said they don't take them.

I gave the CSM the coupon policy that says the do accept them and she said she'd be right back she had to talk with the store MGR. I got so upset I was ready to leave the store as it took her over 5 minutes to get back with me.

I felt embarrassed because they had other customers in back of me who heard what was going on, but they wanted to pay for their groceries and leave. I didn't blame them!

I'm left wondering if these stores train their employees to the fullest capacity. I mean this cashier was young and acted like she didn't understand me at all! All she knew to say was we don't accept them!

Has anyone ever been through this?? Did you feel embarrassed?

My sister said she wouldn't have felt embarrassed because I was well within my right as a consumer to use my coupons.

What do you think?

Good Evening

Good Evening to all who reads my blog/rss feed.

Wow it's been 4 days since I posted! I have a good reason for it! My arm has been hurting me since Tuesday morning. I didn't do anything to it, I woke up with it like that. I've taken advil during the day and prescription IBU 800 at night so I can sleep.

Today my arm felt a lot better than it was, so I'm relieved about that! I am thinking it's how I sleep or my pillow (flat as heck!).

I've been trying to come up with a name for my money blog and can't. lol Everything I've read online says to stay away from the word mommy and a few others I can't remember right now.

I'm thinking about holding a contest to see if anyone else can come up with a name. We'll see!

I don't understand why the rss feed sent out a post I made back in February. lol I was shocked as heck to get that! I kept looking at it and was trying to figure out what happened! Guess it doesn't matter though.

Well, I'm just updating, I plan on doing more with the blog, just trying to figure out what to post about.

Wishing all a good night!

Life!

I'm tired, I've been having a headache every single day and today I found out our rent will be going up! The rent going up isn't bad though, it's only raised $10, so that's really good! I was holding my breath and praying when the landlord was telling us. lol

I've been trying to do this All You Grocery Challenge that is going on with the ALL You Magazine people. I'm trying the best that I can, and I'm praying I have a chance to win!

The winner receives a $1000 Grocery Card and a Year's worth of Knorr Products. It would be so nice to win that, but the only problem I see are the area's were the stores double coupons etc. To me that isn't quite fair to those of us who don't have a store that does that!

The Rules are to spend ONLY $25 per person per household. That limits me to $50 in food and drink for 2 people, you don't include your household items (tissue paper, shampoo, pet food, etc.)

This really gives you a prespective on how you spend you money too. lol I spent $32.66 at Wal-Mart yesterday and although I didn't really get a lot of food, I'm not worried because:
  • A) I have a lot in my pantry and freezer
  • B) I know I can spend $50 at Save A Lot next week (Friday) and have a LOT of food!
  • Not to mention the MGR there owe's me a $5 credit because he REFUSED to accept my coupon that was valid and he said it wasn't! District MGR handled it and it is valid and I can use it after the expiration date. lol The District MGR was cool about it. So that would make it $45 spent. Then August 7th and 14th I won't have to spend as much (fingers crossed).

Anyway, I just like to update my blog on my daily things going on in my life. I will start to update on my money blog soon. Need to update all the money I've made last month!

Good Night and I hope your week is a GREAT one!

    Waiting for the weekend

I so can't wait for the weekend! I just can't wait to get this week done and over with! It's only 5pm and I am so tired! LOL It did rain a few minutes, but I do think it's that medicine I took last night. My chest was sore, so I took a pill to make it go away so I could get some sleep!

We were suppose to sell our van today, but I guess the guy changed his mind. He didn't answer when my hubby called him and he never passed by. I'm hoping that he just got tied up and will come by tomorrow or later this evening.

I just feel bored! I hope that passes and soon. I hate being this tired and it's not near time for bed!

10 Reasons To Have Family Meals More Often

10 Reasons to Have Family Meals More Often

When was the last time your family had a meal together? I don't mean sitting in the car munching on burgers from the drive-through. I mean sitting down at the table and sharing a home-cooked meal.

If you can't remember when you last enjoyed a family dinner, make plans to have them more often. Experts have found – and continue to discover - plenty of benefits for both children and adults when families have dinner together at least three times a week.

I know...I know, it's not always easy, so click here if you need help with meal planning and grocery shopping.

Here are 10 reasons why you should have family meals more often:

    Good For The Body
    1. When families eat together, everyone tends to eat healthier. People who have frequent family meals consume more calcium, fiber, iron, and vitamins B6, B12, C and E. It could be because home-cooked meals are healthier than fast food and restaurant meals. (Source: Archives of Family Medicine)

    2. Children tend to eat more fruits and vegetables when they frequently have dinner with their families. They also tend to eat fewer snack foods. (Source: American Dietetic Association)

    3. Children in families who eat dinner together are less likely to be overweight (Source: Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine). This makes sense, given the findings in #1 and #2 above.

    Good For The Brain
    4. Children from families who eat meals together get better grades than their peers who don't have lots of family meal times (Source: Lou Harris-Reader's Digest National Poll).
So family dinners are not only good for the body; they're also good for the brain.

    5. When families eat together frequently, children have better language skills compared to kids from families who don't have family mealtimes often. (Source: Harvard
    University)

    Good For Emotional Health
    6. Children of families who eat together report feeling happier and are more optimistic about the future, than their peers who have infrequent family meals. (Source: Lou Harris-
    Reader's Digest National Poll)

    7. Teenagers are less likely to use drugs, smoke, and drink alcoholic drinks, when their families eat together regularly. (Source: Columbia University)

    8. It may come as a surprise, but among Moms who work outside the home, those who have family mealtimes reported feeling less stress than those who had family dinners less
often. (Source: Family and Consumer Sciences Research Journal)

    9. The more often teen girls had meals with their families, the less likely they were to have symptoms of depression and suicidal behaviors. (Source: University of Minnesota)

    Good For Family Bonding
    10. Eating together gives family members the chance to communicate and build relationships, something that both adults and children appreciate very much. (Source: Nutrition Education Network of Washington & Oprah Winfrey's "Family Dinner Experiment")

I hope these reasons motivate you and your family to try and eat together more often. We're all busy - even children have plenty of after-school activities. But as the list above shows, family meals are worth every effort we put into them. It helps to plan ahead so that we're not scrambling to get dinner ready or panicking because we don't have all the ingredients we need.

To make it easier to get the family around the table with a home-cooked meal, check out Dine Without Whine's menu planning service. It costs just a penny to try it out!

    Sunday and Public Transportation

    Reactions:

We woke up at 8 am this morning. We decided to take a nice quick trip to Wal-Mart. NOT!!

We have to take public transportation and well, we found out that there was only 1 bus on each line that works on Sunday! We left the house at 9:20 and caught the first bus at 9:25, the second bus for 9:47. We caught the buses on time to get to Wal-Mart, was in the store, perhaps 15 minutes if that and then we had a 45 minute wait for the 1 bus to take us to the next bus line to get home. We had an hour wait for the next bus.

Instead of waiting, we went and had a cheap lunch at Taco Tico! We ate real slowly as it was very hot outside and I had started to feel sick waiting for the first bus. The bus passed on time, and we were home by noon.

So our quick trip turned into being away from home for 3 hours!

In my opinion, they really need to get their heads straight and put more buses working on these lines! I know people want to have Sunday's off, but life still goes on no matter if it's Sunday or Friday and people still catch the bus on Sundays!

2 hours waiting for buses was a bit much for me today! I am so happy to be home in my nice COLD house! I'm litterally cold now. lol The AC is set to 75 degrees and I feel cold............I love it!

Is Copying A Freebie considered a Copyright issue?? If so why?

    Reactions:

I am a member of several yahoogroups. I've been a member of 1 group for a few years now and I thought I had made a few good friends. Well, this one person I thought was a friend is really pissing me off now.

Last night I simply wrote an email to my groups asking if anyone knew if posting a freebie on your blog/forum or whatever is a copyright violation. Now I'm asking about the freebie, not anything else.

You know I got several replies telling me not to worry about it that the person who complained had to have found the freebies from someplace before listing on their blog and it was not a copyright issue. I also had someone check my blog and told me I was not in any violations!

Well, this person on one of my groups is saying it is a copyright violation (she's the only one saying this) but she gets her freebies and sends them in as well! LOL

She just doesn't get it! She keeps telling me it's there work. lol I keep telling her we aren't talking about their work, their words, just the freebie itself! This was last night.

Today she writes back all pissy! Telling me I don't understand and she doesn't have time to sit and explain it. WTH??!!! LOL I'm not an idiot! I know what a copyright is!

This is what really pissed me off with her! She also tells me I can't blame anyone else for my stress. HELLO??!! Don't even go there! What I put in that email was that I couldn't get stressed and I was pissed. Didn't put the blame on anyone there!

So my question is could you stay friends with this person?? Could you stay in the same group with this person? I hate having to decide this, I really don't want to leave the group, but I just can't stay around this person any longer.

I just took one of my anxiety pills as my chest is starting to hurt again. I thought this person was a friend, but I find today, she really isn't.

    Nothing Is Ever Right!

    Reactions:

Do you ever feel that what ever you do, no matter how you do it, it's never right?

Well, let me tell you about this. I have turned this blog into my personal blog because I need to be able to release my stress from things.

Yesterday I had to go to the hospital and had all kinds of test done to find out that I was having an anxiety attack! Too much stress and the last thing I need is stress with doing something I LOVE to do!

    Here it goes:
Today, I got an email from another blogger asking me not to copy. She started out her email with it has come to "her" attention, like she is the head honcho of blogging!

Ok this is a FREEBIE blogger! She finds freebies and list them on her blog! There are SEVERAL of these types of bloggers and I have one as well.

Anyway, if you can't copy the freebies, then why have the blog! Just because the freebie is listed on a certain blog does NOT in any way mean it is COPYRIGHTED! NOTHING is copyrighted unless you pay to have it copyrighted! If this was fact, do you know how many people would be in trouble for copy right infringement??

Do you know how many blogs/sites/yahoogroups there are for FREEBIES???!!!! PLENTY!!

Everyone finds the same freebies in one way or another, so this put a bit of stress on me and so I'm writing my feelings out about it.

It just depends on how you describe the item. Now if you take a sniplet and change the words, that's NOT copying and if I did copy, then I do apologize about that.

I ALWAYS give credit to the bloggers where I found it and their link so who ever reads it on my blog can also visit theirs! Also if a link isn't working on their site, I email them and tell them! I thought I was doing the right thing!

My problem is and I've been thinking about this a lot, I give credit to them and send visitors to their blogs, I have a yahoogroup with over 100 members who wouldn't know about these other blogs if not for me. lol They are also on my blogroll and I am NOT on theirs!

When I first started blogging (even now) and was asking for link exchanges or to be friends there was NO interest. I was told NO by one blogger, she didn't have room! WTH??!!

Why is it so important for other bloggers to stay in their little circle and not let anyone new in?? What is so wrong in helping a newbie?

I am in NO way trying to start trouble here, I just want to fully understand this and get rid of the stress I felt when I read that email. I mean she was nice, don't get me wrong, but still, if any bloggers have a problem with me or anyone else, why not step up and say something themselves?

    7 Online Copyright Myths
“As long as I note the author’s name, I can use their site’s content on my site.” Although you are being nice and giving credit where credit is due, you still need to ask the author’s permission to post their work on your site. The author may not want their information posted anywhere off their own site or they many not approve of your site as a venue for their information - that is their choice to make not yours. Just because you choose to give credit doesn’t give you permission. Always ask a site owner if you can use their content before you put it on your site. http://www.theistudio.com/muse/7-online-copyright-myths/

Now this is for copying their work, not freebies, freebies are listed all over the internet and if that is copyright infringement, then everyone should stop sending them to groups and posting them to blogs and telling everyone they know about it!

Also I haven't picked any freebies from this blogger in a while. lol

    Picky Picky Picky

    Reactions:

Have you ever wondered what makes a person so picky? I do a lot!

I have been with the same man for 26 yrs, we recently got married (5/22/09) and I just can't tell you how picky he has become. lol I thought it was suppose to be women who were picky, but he is worse than me!

    For Instance:
I have plants that are suppose to be outside, but our temperatures have been topping at 100 and they started to wilt, so I took them inside. I brought them to the sink and rinsed off the bottom and side of the pots (I have one of those hose sprayers on my faucet). I took a towel and put it on the floor and then set the plants on the towel. Trust me when I say there were NO bugs on these pots.

The plants have been indoors for a few days now. Today, it was a rainy day, so I put ALL the plants back out to get fresh rain water and some air to help them grow. I have NOT brought them back inside, it is suppose to be the same way tomorrow, so I figure they'll be ok out there.

My husband just complained to me about the towel that is still on the floor! He thinks I should have taken it and shook it out becaue of the little microscopic bugs! HUH?? What bugs?? I take the plants and water them at my sink every evening (not over watering, just being sure they have it and the pots are clean). lol

This really urked me because I don't like bugs of any kind and for him to say that to me was really unfair.
